Question 1
1. This was a project our class did at the beginning of the semester and at the end of the semester. The word for both of these projects was "water' and I thought of two different images in my mind when I thought of water. In the start of the class I thought of a sunset and the materials I used was color pencils. Closing at the end of the semester when I thought of the word "water" I thought of a lake with mountains in the background. The materials I used for this was acrylic paint. Over the time of the semester my skills have improve dramatically based on these two portraits. I learned a lot of methods during this semester on how to approach a drawing or a painting. I especially learned a lot about how to use chalk pastels. The picture below is a chalk pastel drawing.
Question 2
For my drawing on the left I used pencil. Some unique ideas I used in my project was taking projects from my past and putting them into one portrait. What made this drawing original was that I took my own ideas and made it into a bunch of drawing i did in my past projects. If i had to rate this artwork from 1-4 i would choose a 2. My artistic behaviors after this project didn't really excel as i wanted it to.
My drawing on the right the materials I used was chalk pastels. I learned that brushing just a little bit of chalk on the paper and rub it on my paper with my finger creates a lighter color of chalk and I am able to fade the chalk into the paper. Using chalk pastels opened my mind for new projects and how to interpret new drawings or paintings. The level I would rate this artwork from 1-4 I would choose a 3. I thought my artistic behaviors improved dramatically over the time of this project. Over all I enjoyed drawing this project.
