For my perspective drawing project that we did in art 2 class. I really tried to bring out the perspective in my piece. In order to make my drawing more appealing I darkened the vanishing point in my drawing and as you got further away from the vanishing point the value of the drawing got lighter. I really like the way I made the train on the left with the train tracks. The most challenging in this drawing was trying to visualize the value and what to add to the drawing and what not. I enjoyed doing a perspective drawing and I know and can improve on keeping my lines straighter and knowing the value of the items in my drawing.
Final Critique
This art work was created by David Valcheff. The title of my work is," Supreme Ultra Lord Fish." This art work was created with clay and acrylic paint. As you can see there is a fish and a plate to hold the fish. When I first look at this art work the colors of the body of the fish catch my eye with the detail and value of colors used. The mix of colors brings out the realistic body of what a fish has. The texture of the fish is bumpy with the detail of scales of the fish. The colors I used was orange, red, pink, white, shiny white, and yellow. The shape of the fish is more skinner than fatter. The plate is one of my favorite pieces of this art work. I got my inspiration from one of the plates I have at my house. I used my finger on the edges of the plate to give it stylist design. The bottom of the fish has more darker colors but as you move towards the apex of the fish the colors become more lighter. When I look at this fish the warm colors give me a happy feeling and it reminds me of the summer going out fishing with my family.
I believe this artist is trying to think of the summer times when its hot and the sun is shinning and fishing with your family or friends to show happiness. This art work means a lot to me because it reminds of the times I would go into the woods with my brothers and fish. The fish also symbolizes Christianity which is my religion. The value of the art work of the fish evokes a peaceful afternoon by a river on a hot summer day. I feel this way because the fish is not a predator like a shark but symbolizes the importance of being outside in nature with a peaceful tone. The fish has a strong value with the detail of the fins and the scales on the fish. The colors were blended very well together to give the fish a realistic look. The value falls short on the face of the fish because I could of added more detail like teeth and maybe closing the fish's mouth having a little fin come its mouth showing that the fish caught a smaller fish to eat.

Question 1
My most successful project was my fish project. The details of our project was to create some type of food out of clay. Everyone in the class was doing a desert or some type of sweet. I wanted to do something different which made me stand out from everyone else. When I started to work with the clay it was challenging to envision on how to make my fish. I started to make two slaps of clay about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. These two slaps were going to be the body of the fish. To make sure I had the value and realistic body of the fish I used paper to put inside the fish to make sure the fish didn't stick together and I would be left with a big slap of clay. I then started to put the two slaps together and I got the body of my fish. The next piece of my art work was the fin and the head. I made the fin and the head separate of the fish because so I could make sure I could make the fin and the head as realistic as I could. Once I put on the fin and the head I then started to put detail on the fish and started to make smaller fins to give the fish a more realistic look. I used a needle to put the fine scales of the fish and also the eyes and the fins. Once I finished the detail of the fish I started to make my plate. I took a paper plate to get the elevation of the plate and shape. I also used my finger to indent all around the plate to give it a different look from what normal plates look like. The colors were challenging to figure out but once the right blends started to show up I was liking on what the fish was going to look like. The plate had only one whole color. To enhance my project further I could have put more detail on the plate maybe some flowers to give it a realistic look and make it pop out. I was thinking about putting teeth in the fish to give it a realistic look.
Question 3
For our art class we did mini projects that benefited use in someway. The drawing on the right was one of our first mini projects. This project helped us to understand the value of a image or in this case the cone. This benefited us by showing us the light source of where light is shining on an image and being able to show that in a drawing and to be able to show the value and realistic perspective of it. This instruction was given enough for this mini project and I think my teacher did a great job on explaining and showing us how to shade the different values of light to dark and the point on which the light hits the image.
The painting on the right was a great mini project on confidence and showing kids that it was possible to create great pieces of art. For this project our teacher gave us a piece of a picture of a famous painting but at the time we did not know that. Once we finished there we other students in the class which painted a piece of the same famous painting that our teacher gave us. We were able to put them together and we were able to create the famous painting that were a part of our piece that we got. This a confidence building project which we created a famous painting and it taught us that we are able to create beautiful art work with you working hard on to achieve it. This was enough information for us to go on for this mini project because it showed us that if we work hard and our determined to create a beautiful piece of art.
